  • If using JR(Get off at JR Fukui Station)

    Please board the bus bound for Echizen Coast Blue Line from the Keifuku Bus stop in front of JR Fukui Station.
    Keifuku Bus runs every hour from Fukui Station.
    The bus ride takes approximately 50 minutes, and please get off at the Hashiya-guchi bus stop in front of the hotel.
    If you are coming by plane arriving at Komatsu Airport, there is a bus bound for Fukui.

  • If using Hokuriku Expressway(Please get off at Fukui Kita IC.)

    If you are coming by Hokuriku Expressway, Fukui Kita IC is the closest one.
    From Fukui Kita IC, take National Route 416 towards Echizen Coast Takasu.
    After passing through the suburbs of Fukui City, you will reach Echizen Coast Route 305 in about an hour.
    Once you reach Route 305, turn left and arrive at the facility in about 3 minutes.
  • If coming from Tsuruga direction

    If you are taking National Route 8 or National Route 305 from Hokuriku Motor's Tsuruga IC,
    From Tsuruga IC, take National Route 8 and continue towards Fukui.
    After about 40 minutes of driving, you will arrive at the entrance of the Konomura Toll Road Shiokaze Line, and after about 50 minutes of driving, you will arrive at the Konomura Sakurabashi intersection signal.
    From either of these points, enter National Route 305 runs along Echizen Coast.
    After reaching the coastline, if you continue along Route 305 through Echizen Town and head north toward Mikuni, you will arrive at Takasu, where this facility is located, in about an hour.
  • If coming from Osaka/ Nagoya area

    Meishin Expressway - About 2 and a half hours on Hokuriku Expressway - Fukui Kita IC - Exit the IC and take R416 for about 40 minutes.

    This dojo was founded by Dogen Zenji in 1244, approximately 770 years ago.
    Based on Daibutsujiyama, located about 16km southeast of Fukui City,
    More than 70 halls and towers of various sizes, centering on Shichido Garan, are lined up on the border of a ghostly landscape with the rich colors of Mt.
    The precincts are approximately 100,000 tsubo in size, and the tranquil atmosphere surrounded by lush old cedars said to be 680 years old makes it a sacred area suitable for a monk's dojo.

    ■Ichijodani Asakura Family Site
    About 530 years ago, in 1471, this is the ruins of a castle town where the Asakura clan, a feudal lord from the Sengoku period, ruled Echizen Province for 103 years over five generations.
    At its peak, the population is said to have exceeded 10,000, making it a magnificent castle town and flourishing with an elegant culture.
    However, the Asakura clan was defeated by Oda Nobunaga in 1573.We have closed the curtain on that long history.
    The first full-scale excavation survey was conducted in 1967, and the original townscape was uncovered almost completely.
    In 1991, four gardens within the Asakura ruins were designated as special national scenic spots.
